Your Impact
What is Green Day?
Green Day is a simple and meaningful way for your workplace, school, or community group to come together and support Samaritans Green Light Appeal.
By wearing green, hosting an activity, or starting a conversation, you’re helping shine a light on people in our community who need support.
Our official Green Day is held on the first Tuesday in August, however workplaces, schools and community groups are encouraged to host their own Green Day event on any day throughout Homelessness Week that works best for them.

FAQ
When is Green Day?
Green Day is on the first Tuesday in August, coinciding with Homelessness Week. You are welcome to mark Green Day any day during Homelessness Week, or an alternative date in August that is most convenient for your workplace, school or business.
Do we have to dress up?
You can wear as little or as much green as you like - there is no rule. You could wear a green headband or a full green costume - the choice is yours! Simply wearing green shows your support for youth homelessness in our region.
Do we have to fundraise or donate to Green Day?
Donations and fundraising are always welcome, but not compulsory requirements of the initiative. Wearing green, showing your support and sharing to your networks is equally as important.Â
Are there resources we can share?
Yes! A range of resources including social media tiles, internal communications, and posters are available here. These pieces of collateral are designed for you to share with your staff, colleagues, family, friends and wider networks.Â
